During our rotational molding design calls, we go over a few key questions to help inform your part’s manufacturing process. This includes items like:

  • Our team will ask questions to understand what you need out of your chosen part. We’ll touch on the part’s intended application, its size, shape, desired features, and more.

  • We’ll also ask about what materials you’d like your part to be made out of. In many cases, we’ll provide our own recommendations for the best fit.

  • The GVL Poly team works to understand where you are in the current part manufacturing process. Do you already have a mold? If so, we can complete tool transfer steps if necessary. If you don’t have a mold, our in-house engineering team can help with that.

  • At the end of the call, we’ll go over the timeline and next steps so you know exactly what to expect from us.

RAPID PROTOYPING


As your product’s design evolves from concept to finished piece, GVL Poly’s plastic part prototyping services play an important role in testing. Our FDM prototypes use industrial-grade thermoplastics, allowing you to test in real-world environments and make decisions that have a dramatic effect on the cost of manufacturing your product.

Our 3D prototypes are virtually identical to the final product, allowing you to validate products before continuing on with full-scale production. They have the same geometry, accuracy, and in many cases the same production-grade thermoplastics as your final part. PolyWorks® is the leading reverse-engineering and inspection software that offers rapid tooling design solutions. Our production team can convert a metal/steel component to plastic by reverse engineering parts. With the use of our Faro Arm, the part can be fully scanned to create point clouds, modify for tooling requirements and print a 3-D model.
