ERP & MRP
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is a category of business management software using a suite of integrated applications used by a business to collect, store, manage and interpret data from many business applications including purchasing, manufacturing, marketing, inventory management and shipping.
Material requirements planning (MRP) is a production planning, scheduling, and inventory control system used to manage manufacturing processes.
GVL Poly uses software developed by Exact Macola to increase the speed and accuracy of doing business in today’s complex manufacturing environment and streamline operations. This advanced software enables GVL to better serve our customers by meeting three objectives:
-
availability
Ensuring materials are available for production and products are available for delivery
-
lower waste
Maintaining the lowest possible material and product levels in inventory and planning activities
-
scheduling
Scheduling deliveries schedules and purchasing activities
lean manufacturing
WE MAXIMIZE VALUE WITH LEAN MANUFACTURING
Lean Manufacturing or Lean Production is a manufacturing method focusing on elimination of waste within the system.
-
Specify what creates value from the customer’s perspective
Identify all the steps along the process chain
Make those processes flow
Make only what is pulled by the customer
Strive for perfection by continually removing waste
-
Over production

Bad quality
GVL Poly has adopted these principles to maximize the value for our customers. Lean is a system focusing on continuous improvement rather than a destination. The truly unique thing about Lean Manufacturing is that it is about development of a different mental approach to work. When you work with GVL Poly, you can be assured that we make every effort to follow these principles in an effort to save you time and money while still ensuring the highest level of quality.
Manufacturing Engineering
Because GVL Poly manufactures a wide variety of parts and products, we employ a team of manufacturing engineers to deal with daily challenges of business. This team of manufacturing engineers is disciplined in several manufacturing engineering practices so GVL Poly can make your product as good as it can be. Focusing on research, design, system development, processes, machines, tools, and equipment, our team ensures that our manufacturing employees can produce a high quality part every time.

Single Piece Flow has been described as a system to efficiently organize manufacturing operations. The process is often incorporated as a goal of the Lean Manufacturing System. In this system the batch sizes are replaced by working on one product at a time. Achieving One Piece Flow requires the elimination of waste.
-
Cellular Manufacturing is a Lean Manufacturing Concept similar to One Piece Flow but refers to the plant layout. Essentially, following the Cellular Manufacturing Concept is to arrange equipment and workstations in an efficient sequence that promotes a continuous and smooth movement of inventory and materials for production to produce products using One Piece Flow. It is essential in this system to minimize transport or waiting time.
